Why I Built EtherDelta Helper

I was one of the early cryptocurrency enthusiasts who used EtherDelta.

Years ago, I knew I had crypto connected to EtherDelta and tried to recover it. I couldn't get it out. After trying, I eventually gave up.

But the crypto didn't simply disappear.

Years later, with more knowledge, better blockchain tools, and now artificial intelligence, I went back and looked again.

This time, I was able to trace the blockchain history and manually recover nearly 1 million AlphaGem (AGem) tokens that I had left in EtherDelta.

I had been one of them.

What This Experience Taught Me

For me, this became another lesson about cryptocurrency.

I tried years ago and gave up. Years later, the blockchain record was still there and I was able to recover my crypto.

That doesn't mean cryptocurrency is risk-free. It means that when we use crypto, we need to understand what we're doing—our wallets, our keys, the smart contracts we're interacting with, and the transactions we're signing.
